FFA club welcomes students from Queens

Students paint cows as part of "paint and sip milk" eventThe Schuylerville High School FFA Club recently welcomed FFA officers from Queens, N.Y. to Schuylerville as part of a student exchange. The students, from John Bowne High School, visited the area from February 16-19 to shadow students and learn about Schuylerville and the local agricultural opportunities.

During the visit, students from both FFA chapters visited several local dairy farms to help out with chores, toured a racing farm where they learned to lead and brush horses and visited the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in Saratoga Springs. The students also had time to enjoy some fun activities together, from sledding and a movie night to a paint and sip milk event. Schuylerville FFA members plan to visit John Bowne High School in March.

“This exchange is an amazing experience for us all,” said sophomore Jillian Peek. “We are very thankful for the opportunities FFA is giving us and we want to thank the teachers and local families who helped make this possible. We can’t wait to visit our new friends.”
