An all-freshmen team from the Schuylerville High School Environmental Club took home third place in the Saratoga Regional Envirothon competition on April 30 at Saratoga Spa State Park.
The competition tests students’ knowledge of conservation related topics such as soils, aquatics, forestry and wildlife. Nine teams from high schools in Saratoga County competed and DEC staff and officials from other agencies served as volunteer judges.
Emily Flores and Kevin Emblidge, science teachers and environmental club advisors, brought two teams from Schuylerville High School to compete. They say they are looking forward to raising money for study guides and for the transportation to compete again next year.
