In conjunction with the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, a drive-thru food distribution event will be held in the Schuylerville Central School District parking lot on Thursday, May 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Food will be available on a first come, first-served basis through a contact-free drive-up service. Anyone from the greater Schuylerville community is welcome.
In addition, the district would like to thank local business, Cerrone Builders, Inc. for a donation of $1,600 to S.A.F.E.R. which directly benefits the Schuylerville CSD backpack program. Prior to the school closure, the backpack program was assisting 19 families and 42 students on a weekly basis.
Every Friday, students with families in need would confidentially take home a backpack with breakfast and dinner supplies for the weekend. The backpack included snacks, a loaf of bread and a Stewart’s gift card for a 1/2 gallon of milk. The program’s goal is to meet the needs of hungry children on weekends.
