Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is the process through which children and adults acquire and effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions. With strong social and emotional skills, our students will be able to set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions. Social Emotional Learning tools are not just for our students; they help parents, teachers and children acquire the knowledge and skills they need to understand and manage their emotions. The Schuylerville Central School District wants to promote Social Emotional Learning for both students and parents. Please visit https://www.schuylervilleschools.org/social-emotional-learning/ to learn more.
Additionally, the Schuylerville Central School District will be scheduling educational parent nights throughout the school year to educate families and students on the topic of Social Emotional Learning and the readily available resources available to them. Events will be advertised here on the district website.
