District holds 72nd commencement, 148 graduate

The Schuylerville Central School District held its 72nd commencement on Saturday, June 23 at the Saratoga Springs City Center. 148 students graduated and more than 100 awards and scholarships were handed out, totaling more than $81,000. Valedictorian Derek Willson, Salutatorian Sidney Gregorek and Board of Education Jack Macica addressed the Class of 2018 and those in attendance.

Seniors from the SCS Vocal Ensemble performed the Star-Spangled Banner, the school’s Alma Mater and “What a Wonderful World.” The district also presented Operation Recognition diplomas to four veterans: Timothy Francis Gifford, Leon C. Robinson, Weston Everett Turner and Barney J. Villa.
