Schuylerville Central School District Superintendent Dr. Ryan Sherman sent a letter to the Schuylerville school community on Tuesday, Oct. 16 announcing the creation of a new position entitled Director of Pupil Personnel Services. See below for the complete letter.
Dear Schuylerville Community:
Due to the upcoming retirements of Lynn Mastrianni, Director of Special Education, and John Haggerty, Director of Student Services, the district has created a new position entitled Director of Pupil Personnel Services. I am pleased to announce that Elementary Principal Gregg Barthelmas has agreed to accept our offer to become the new Director of Pupil Personnel Services. The central administration position will oversee special education, counselors, psychologists, federal Title and IDEA allocations, as well as home-school and homeless youth. Mr. Barthelmas will begin his new position on July 1, 2019.
Mr. Barthelmas has been the elementary principal since 2010 and under his leadership has created one of the most respected learning environments in the Capital Region.
The district will be moving forward with an immediate search process (see schedule below). Attached is a brochure for the position that outlines the selection criteria for prospective candidates. There will be three elementary parents who will serve on the large group panel, along with representatives from the teaching, support staff, and administration.
If you are interested in serving on the panel as a parent representative, please call Ms. Judi Dunkel at 695-3255 ext. 3242 by December 20, 2018. If more than three parents express interest in serving on the panel, we will hold a random drawing.
