Dear Schuylerville families,
The district has learned about two individuals in the school community that tested positive for COVID-19.
- A Schuylerville Elementary School student tested positive Dec. 15; the student was last in school on Dec. 14. The positive case has resulted in 19 students and 8 faculty/staff members in quarantine.
- A Schuylerville Middle School staff member tested positive Dec. 15; the staff member was last in school on Dec. 14. The positive case has resulted in 4 students and 1 staff member in quarantine.
Since learning of the positive cases, the district has been working in conjunction with Saratoga County Public Health Services to contact trace. At this time, all individuals who need to quarantine as a result of these cases have been contacted by the school.
Please note that the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information. We cannot identify anyone who has tested positive.
At this time, the district remains open for in-person learning. Vigilance is key during this time period of increasing COVID-19 cases in our community. Following guidelines regarding masks, social gatherings and social distancing are important to both inside and outside of school buildings.
If you have any questions, please reach out to COVID-19 Coordinator, Gregg Barthelmas.
