Board recognizes robotics club, championship athletes

The Schuylerville Central School District Board of Education spent part of its regular meeting on Monday, March 20 recognizing recent student achievements.

The Board congratulated the robotics club on its second place finish at the FIRST New York Tech Valley Regional Robotics Competition on Saturday, March 18 and wished them well at nationals in St. Louis in April. Each student introduced themselves and explained how they contributed to the team’s success through building the robot, programming the robot, driving the robot and scouting the competition.

The Board also recognized two student athletes who advanced to compete in state championships this winter season. Freshman Hannah Klingebeil finished fourth in the slalom event at the state championship meet in February. She, along with four other slalom racers, represented New York state at the Eastern States High School Championships from March 10-12. Junior Orion Anderson was recognized for his success in wrestling. Anderson won back-to-back state titles and was named the ‘Most Outstanding Wrestler’ of the state championship tournament. Anderson will compete at nationals in Virginia Beach from March 24-26.
