Effective March 20, all school buildings will be closed

Dear Schuylerville families,

As we continue to navigate these unprecedented times, below is some new information about district-level operations:

Effective Friday, March 20, all school buildings will be closed. All staff will be working remotely through the closure period, with the exception of operations and maintenance personnel. Access to the buildings will be prohibited. This decision was made to ensure the disinfection and cleaning of the buildings remains preserved.

Outdoor areas on campus

During this time of closure all outdoor areas will be closed, including the district’s stadium, track, tennis courts and playgrounds.

Meals

The district will continue delivery-only for meals to minimize person-to-person contact. Deliveries will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. and include two days of breakfast and lunch. Meals are free for all students under the age of 18, regardless of their free or reduced lunch eligibility during the regular school year. It’s come to our attention that food isn’t being brought in as soon as it’s delivered, presenting an issue specifically with the milk. If you will not be home during the delivery timeframe, please put a cooler in front of your home to help preserve the food.

Childcare for essential workers

All schools in the WSWHE BOCES will be working in conjunction with local county providers and existing licensed daycare providers to find open placements for families of essential workers. Click here for more information.
