Schuylerville FFA chapter hosts sub-state competition

The Schuylerville FFA Chapter hosted nearly 200 FFA members and advisors from across the eastern region of New York on Saturday, March 21. It was the first time Schuylerville has hosted a Sub-State FFA event and the feedback showed that it was viewed as a huge success by those who attended.

“I am very proud of our group of student leaders in the Schuylerville FFA Chapter,” FFA Advisor Levi Cahan said. “They took on a large portion of the responsibility for this event and were a huge help to both myself and Debbie Bartolucci during the weeks of preparation.”

Cahan also credited the approximately 70 volunteers and judges who came to support the mission of the FFA “to develop premier leadership and career success through agriculture education.”

In addition to planning and running the event, Schuylerville students also prepared to compete in several of the eleven career development events. Winners of those events will advance to compete at the New York State Convention.

“While none of our members made the top two, which is required to move on to the state convention, our students performed great and represented our school at a very high level,” Cahan said.
