PEP's Events
Below are some details on the PEP events and the responsibilities of coordinators and volunteers. Click here for nomination forms for PEP positions [MS Word file].

  • Bake Sales: Each month, one grade has a bake sale. Volunteers help hand out the baked goods during lunch periods.

  • Chess Club: There are two clubs—one for grades 2-5 and another for grades 6-8. Volunteers help teach chess and monitor games. Held once a week during the winter months.

  • Child I.D. Program: New York State Troopers create I.D. cards for students. Volunteers help bring students back and forth from classes. Held in April.

  • Custodian Appreciation Dinner: We hold a dinner for the custodial staff to thank them for all of their help during our events. Dinner is held in June.

  • DARE Graduation: Fifth graders are honored for participating in the DARE program. Refreshments and prizes are given out. Held in January.

  • Family Fun Day: Outdoor carnival with games and food. Volunteers are needed to help prepare for the day and work the booths. Event is held in May.

  • Family Movie Nights: Movie nights for students in grades K-6 and their families. Volunteers help make popcorn and serve refreshments. Movies run throughout the winter months.

  • Fundraising: Volunteers help organize fundraising efforts in the fall (Entertainment Books, Sally Foster orders) and spring (cookie dough).

  • Grades 5-6 Movie Night: Movie nights for students grades 5-6. Volunteers help make popcorn and serve refreshments. Occurs three times per year.

  • Guptill's Arena Rollerskating: Event is held on a Saturday in December for students in grades 4-6. Volunteers help monitor students.

  • Halloween Day Treat: PEP volunteers make popcorn for all students during lunch periods. Volunteers help hand out the popcorn.

  • Harvest Fun Night: Seasonal crafts and games are offered for students in grades 3-4. Volunteers help with crafts and refreshments. Held in October.

  • Holiday Fun Night: Seasonal crafts, games, activities and refreshments are available for students in grades K-2. There are also photos with Santa. Volunteers help students with the crafts and games. Held in December.

  • Ice Cream Social/Drive-In Movie Night: Kick-off event for the school eyar. Volunteers serve ice cream and floats. Following the social, a drive-in movie is shown outside. Held in September.

  • Jingle Bell Shop: Holiday shopping event for students in grades K-6. Volunteers help students with their shopping. The Jingle Bell Shop is open for one week in December.

  • Make Your Own Valentine: Seasonal crafts are available, along with cookie-decorating. For studetns in grades K-4. Volunteers monitor craft tables and assist children. Held in February.

  • Poetry Contest: For Elementary School students. Volunteers organize poetry submissions and judging by teachers. Held in April.

  • Rainbow Food Week: Students sample a variety of fruits and vegetables. Promotes healthy eating and exposes students to new food options. Volunteers chop and serve foods. Held in March.

  • Red Ribbon Week: Activities for each student every day during one week to promote good choices/drug awareness. Volunteers help create and hand out activities to each classroom. Occurs in October.

  • Rollerskating: Two skating parties are held throughout the year for grades K-4. Volunteers help less experienced skaters and serve refreshments.

  • Scholastic Book Fair: Books are available twice a year (fall and spring) through this book fair. Volunteers help students find books at their reading level.

  • Sixth Grade Moving Up Ceremony: A ceremony is held to celebrate the "graduation" of sixth grade students. Volunteers help with refreshments, t-shirts and a memory book. Held in June.

  • Spaghetti Dinner: Volunteers help make gift baskets, sell tickets and serve spaghetti dinners. Held in March.

  • Spirit Wear: Clothing with Schuylerville colors and logos is sold in the fall and spring. Volunteers held gather orders and distribute items when they arrive.

  • Talent Show: Students in grades 3-6 are invited to show off their talents. Volunteers help with auditions, back stage and with refreshments. Held in April.
