State Education Department recognizes Schuylerville for
academic achievements
The New York State Education
Department has recognized both Schuylerville Elementary
School and Schuylerville Jr.-Sr. High School and the
district as whole for earning designations as a "high
performing/gap closing" schools. Districts and schools
earn this distinction by meeting all applicable state
standards for English Language Arts (ELA) and math
during the 2006-07 school year and also making "Adequate
Yearly Progress" (AYP) in ELA and math for two
consecutive years.
"Congratulations are extended to all of our district
staff members for their hard work in helping students
achieve this level of distinction," says Superintendent
Leon Reed. "Everyone on our campus—from the teachers in
the classrooms to the support staff who help create and
maintain a positive learning environment—should be proud
of this accomplishment."
