High School students write notes of appreciation

Students writing notes of appreciationMore than 100 Schuylerville High School students are taking time to recognize their teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week (May 4-8). Student Council members invited students to write a note of thanks or appreciation to any of their teachers, and then students created a collage of gratitude.

“The kids wanted to find a way to allow the entire student body to participate in an act of gratitude,” said Pam DeLucia, student council advisor. “This event gave every student that ability and together they created something powerful and representative of how loved Schuylerville teachers are by their students.”

The collage of notes, which was displayed in the staff room, will be presented at the Board of Education meeting on Monday, May 11. The individual notes will then be delivered to teachers.

“I believe the individual notes will be cherished for many years,” said Laura Lewis, student council advisor. “We are so proud of our kids!”
