A local homeless shelter for teenagers is getting some help from the Schuylerville school community, thanks to the success of the Schuylerville Strong fundraiser. On Wednesday, Dec. 21, seniors Tylor Graham and Maydia Sorgie presented a check for more than $1,600 to Michael Lajeuness, director of WAIT House in Glens Falls. In October, the students helped organize t-shirt sales and the ‘paint the school blue’ event in an effort to show love and support for Special Education Director Lynn Mastrianni. Mrs. Mastrianni was overwhelmed at the outpouring of support, and decided to pay it forward and give back to others in need.
