Advanced Studies

Extra Challenges

While the district’s educational programs are designed to challenge students to reach their full potential, many Schuylerville learners seek extra challenges as they move through the Elementary School, the Middle School and High School.

Advanced Learning Program at Schuylerville (ALPS)

The ALPS Program at Schuylerville Elementary School is for students in grades 4, 5 and 6 who are working well beyond their grade levels. Students spend two afternoons per week (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) studying an advanced integrated curriculum that includes language arts, math, science and technology subject matter. Participants are chosen based on their performance on an aptitude test administered in school and scored externally.
