Homework
Assistance Program
Homework Assistance is a program intended to assist
students in completing their homework on a daily basis.
Students are assigned to this program if they do not
turn in their homework regularly or if it appears to the
classroom teacher that students are having difficulty
completing class work and could benefit from additional
after-school assistance. The Homework Assistance program
is in addition to 10th-period assistance, which is
offered by classroom teachers on a regular basis.
How the program works
Homework Assistance is held Monday through Thursday from
3-5 p.m. Typically students are only assigned to two of
the four days that the Homework Assistance program is
held. If students stay after school for 10th-period
assistance (2:21-3 p.m.) with a classroom teacher, the
students are then required to report to their Homework
Assistance classroom promptly at 3 p.m.
If students are not
staying for 10th-period assistance, they must report to
the school cafeteria by 2:21 p.m. and then to the
Homework Assistance classroom at 3 p.m. Students must
show the tutor that all homework assignments for the
following school day and any back work has been
completed before they can leave school. Students must
verify with the homework tutor that they are caught up
on their homework assignments. |
