4-6 Expectations
It is expected that all students:

  • Wear proper footwear in class (sneakers).

  • Avoid wearing clothing that may prohibit them from being active participants in class (skirts, dresses, spaghetti straps, bare midriffs and hats).

  • Stay under control during all activities (on their feet).

  • Stay inside the yellow lines for their safety (Equipment for the day's lesson is kept outside these lines).

  • Keep their hands to themselves.

  • Move when the teacher says, "go" or turns the music on.

  • Freeze like a statue when the teacher says "freeze" or the music is turned off.

  • Bring a smile to class each and every day!  [top]

Students in grades 5 and 6 are responsible for a lock and locker!

  • These students are responsible for opening and closing their locker whenever the locker is used.

  • It is asked that students keep their locker combination to themselves. This avoids the temptations of stealing and other problems.

  • We ask that these students have both a long sleeve and short sleeve shirt, along with shorts and sweat pants. Depending on weather conditions, the student may want or need these items to be more comfortable while participating.

  • Students in morning classes are also asked to have an old pair of sneakers available in their locker for class. Many times, the grass is wet and we do not want student(s) walking around in wet sneakers during the school day.

All activities will be taught in proper progression with consideration to each child’s ability level. EFFORT and IMPROVEMENT are the goals.

All classes begin with a “warm up” activity geared to show what the body does during exercise. Fitness concepts are integrated throughout each lesson and unit.

It is our hope that students will enjoy physical activity and seek to lead active lives.
