Schuylerville Central School District's website has
captured an award of honor in the New York State School Public Relations
Association's (NYSPRA) 33rd Annual Communications Contest.
This is the third year in a row the Schuylerville website has been
honored with this prestigious award. Traffic to the site has steadily
increased over the last few years, with 530,000 visits (including
133,377 “unique visitors”) since the site was redesigned in January
2009.
The district also received an award of merit in the
special purpose publications category for its district brochure and
another award of merit in the photography category. The winning photo
was used on the district website and published in the district brochure.
NYSPRA's communications contest continues to be one
of the largest of its kind in the nation. With more than 300 entries in
14 categories from across New York State, the 2012 contest was a closely
drawn competition.
Award-winning recipients in NYSPRA’s 33rd Annual Communications Awards
will be honored on October 22, 2012 at the annual NYSPRA Awards Luncheon
held in conjunction with the 2012 New York State School Boards
Association Convention in Rochester, NY.
NYSPRA is a chapter of the National School Public Relations Association.
As a statewide group of professional school communicators, members are
committed to the development and dissemination of communications
designed to engage parents, staff, community residents, partners in
education and other stakeholders.
The statewide awards provide an opportunity for recognition of the
outstanding work performed by school communication professionals who
support student achievement and school improvement initiatives through
effective communications.
