Security cameras have been added on campus to
increase student safety and security. The addition of this equipment is
part of the district’s construction project. A total of 86 cameras have
been installed in the hallways of the Elementary School and the Jr.-Sr.
High School, outside the buildings and in the parking lot. Crews are
currently wiring the equipment. The cameras are expected be operational
in January 2011.
“Over the past several years, parents have asked the district to broaden
its efforts to ensure student safety and increase security on campus.
The cameras are one step in this process,” said Superintendent Dr. Ryan
Sherman. “We’ve also reconfigured the entrances to each school so all
visitors sign in and are accounted for.”
